On the 8th May 2009, Amazing Vouchers got into gear to assist at the annual Animal Rescue Organisation’s (ARO) golf day. This was ARO’s 7th successful golf day where funds were raised for the sick, stray and abused animals of Cape Town.
The Mowbray Golf Club attracted 72 players which included one of Cape Town’s top players and Amazing Vouchers (AV) very own Mr Garth Venter as well AV’s lawyer Mr Andre Nel and his right hand man Mr Cornel Stander. Andrew Krull from Internet solutions, the host of AV’s new website and Goldfish, also graced the AV team with his presence.
Amazing Vouchers donated R6500 to the ARO and spent a further R3500 organising snacks and refreshing drinks for the golfers. The Sour Monkey and After Shock shots were quoted to have improved most of the golfer’s games as they were served at the 9th and 18th hole as well as the halfway house. A big thank to Ross Young from Coke who also did his bit for the animals by sponsoring their newly launched, absolutely thirst quenching Glaceau Vitamin Water.
After the exciting game, everybody freshened up and prepared for the prize giving and auction which was hosted by Golf Punk magazine editor Dan Nicholl. Seven items were up for auction and AV was definitely not going home without something to show. Thank you to Mr Mathieu Coquillon who bid a generous amount of R1 700 on a case of Meerlust Pinot Noir.
Amazing Vouchers is proud to have been part of this great charity event for their second year and look forward to helping Cape Towns animals in March 2010 at the next ARO golf day!
